American style is recognized across in jeans. Originally a west coast item used by miners jeans and denim have captured the mix of American culture. Detroit Denim is founded, run, and moving in that direction. Eric Yelsma started Detroit Denim after leaving a career in corporate America to begin a career of entrepreneurship. An ingenious concept of creating customized cut designer jeans for men has now become a flourishing business. Detroit Denim is certainly adding to the culture and differences of Detroit.

Orleans and Winder is a fashion boutique located in the N’Namdi Art Plaza along with Seva Vegan Restaurant and Black is the new Black. Orleans and Winder is owned by Erin Wetzel. Her love for fashion, boutiques, and design led her to open Orleans and Winder. The styles of Italian, French, NYC, LA, and Detroit designers of high quality stich, cloth, and design is exclusive to Orleans and Winder.

August 2015 features the Fashion Maker on Detroit is Different. The first Fashion Maker is a friend of mine and entrepreneur Koolade who founded, owns, and operates AYV Midtown. AYV Midtown the exclusive retailer for all the limited and distributed clothing for AYV (Accent Your Vibe) clothing. The line began in 1999 as a personal venture. For 15 years plus now he’s run stores, designed clothes, and partnered with a number of artists launching careers such as myself.
